New here? Here's what this place is, and how to use it.

NB: this site is actively under construction. I'm rebuilding it in the open and just restarting the letter, so some rooms are half-furnished and a few shelves are still going up. But like, that's a part of the charm, yuh zimmi? You are watching it get built in real time.

yuh zimmi: a Jamaican way of saying "do you get me?" / "you know what I mean?"

When people ask me what I do, to save energy I have a LinkedIn bio-line prepared at the ready that makes me sound smart and mischievous (curious what it is? read here). But in reality, I don't think we can experience true life within labels and titles. Real life happens when you cast those away, and you become whatever you are (and what you are is always changing).

Despite my deep knowing of this truth, I often succumb to the linkedin-bio reality because The Old World prefers it that way.

Yet, from where I stand today, I can feel the gusts of wind from a New Earth. After all, reality is just a set of beliefs enough people accept. Bob did say the revolution would be telepathic. Can you hear the people sing? Sing the songs of Redemption?

What this is

A living manifesto, in real time.

This site is a living manifesto and public journal documenting a journey building a life outside of the norms and pretences, and aligning with a kinder world already finding its way into being. Here, I document what I'm learning, how I'm building, and the magic I've experienced in the pursuit. As my husband and I travel and experience the world, we want to hold space for everything that it teaches us.

Additionally, I dispatch a weekly newsletter called "Bridging Earth" in collaboration with New Earth Academy that contains a timely thought piece or life lesson, a round-up of my shared thoughts for the week, a BIP (build-in-public) update from us, and a list of travel, volunteering, writing and remote-work opportunities you can use as a quantum jump event to change your life.

What it's for

Two things, really.

1. Building in the open, as a map for the rest of us.

I share my journey openly and nonlinearly, in line with New Earth values, because the path I'm on is one a lot of us are walking without a map. The field notes, the projects, the reading, the missteps: they are here to be useful. Take what serves you, leave the rest.

2. The letter is the heart of it.

Bridging Earth is a mixed-media letter and podcast. Part field journal, part resource drop. Each issue I pass on the openings I find as I go: jobs and volunteer calls, travel and residency experiences, people and projects worth knowing, next to the honest story of how I'm building my life off the paved path and advice for anyone feeling aligned. If you stay for one thing, stay for this.

Where this is headed

Toward something specific.

I'm building toward something specific, here on this site and out in the world: a bottom-up gathering of the people already doing the work, and a kinder, more interdependent way to live. The full picture, the roadmap and the why, lives in the manifesto.

About me

Who am I? And why read my words?

Hi there, I'm Rae <333 I'm an Asian-Jamaican, third-culture, intuitive healer and community organiser living a rooted-nomadic life with my camera-husband and battery daddy (PhD in battery recycling, sustainability expert), Kai. I speak 7 languages and I carry a thirst for ancestral knowledge and an understanding of the human condition. I spent years treating my split identities as a liability before I understood they were the whole gift. The long story lives on the about page.
